Hello!
My name is Gabriela, but everyone calls me Gejb. Originally I'm from Bratislava, but I live in Prague.
I work as an Art Director and Idea Maker in an advertising and creative agency in Prague, and I also work as a freelance creative and visual "artist".
Besides my work, I am currently finishing my master studies at the Academy of the Performing Arts in Prague. I study Alternative and Site Specific Scenography at Department of Alternative Theatre.
I'm also a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Design at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art in Pilsen, Czech Republic. Previously, I studied at the College of Art and Advertising in Prague.
I specialised in photography from which I, later on, transferred to film studies until my graduation. As a part of my FDULS study, I have radically changed the approach to my work, and I moved away from film to the visual arts. However, I stayed passionate about the use of the classical compositional principles which I use up to this date. In the photography, I get inspired by fragments and compositions in architecture and design around me. Recently, my work primarily focuses on spatial installations, interactivity object and light design.
Over time, I have noticed significant progress in my creation, which has crystallized into three spheres I would like to develop further and combine:
1. A fascination by digital and analogue data from the medical sphere (CT, RTG, MRI)
2. Work with light and space primarily in architecture that inclines to stage design
3. Spatial installations and objects that invite you to interact or reflect on the viewer
Reactions connected to the social networks, in which I am looking for inspiration, frequently appear in my work. I also like to develop the question of sustainability in the form of upcycling - in some installations I try to use residual materials that I continue to process.
I try to embrace inspiration wherever I go. I invest my free time in self-education, travelling and learning about other approaches. I travel extensively for various exhibitions and fairs primarily about art, design, and architecture. I also participate in numerous lectures, seminars, and workshops. I am interested in new technologies, graphic design, typography, and other media. I always challenge my possibilities and boundaries in the mean of creation. I also enjoy working in a team because I like to combine different technologies across disciplines, and at the same time, I also believe that an individual doesn't always accomplish big things. I want to implement ambitious projects on a larger scale and broader scope.

Fun fact: Most schools tell you to choose between art and commerce. Well, I chose both. I do visual art but my guilty pleasure is (creative!) advertising and marketing. Sometimes, I have the wicked desire to connect these two worlds. Therefore, I'm considered to be the alternative, maybe even conceptual art director and idea maker in creative agency in Prague.
